Then, pepin began to conquer a larger territory and produced only one legitimate son, charles, to prevent the inheritance practice dividing territories. As generations pass, the carolingians gained more and more territory. By 732 ce, charles martel of carolingians defeated muslim army and saved. Pepin ii, son of charles martel, united all of what"s today"s france and was officially inaugurated as the ruler of france in 750 ce. Pepin"s son, charlemagne the ethnographer, inherited the thorn, conquered most of europe, and stabilized many social problems.
