Roppespiere supports the insurrection eventually: purge of the girondins (may 31 june 2 1793, arrest of girondin leaders (june 2, exececution of girondin leaders (november 4) Constructing a revolutionary society: constitution of 1793 (june 23, 1793) Article 1: the aim of society is the common welfare (very egalitarian) Article 3: all men are equal by nature and before the law (radically democratic) Articles 9: the law ought to protect public and personal liberty against the oppression who govern . Suggests the rising notion of the government being an oppressive body and not for the people.
