Are we social-political beings?

oAre we more ourselves when we’re completely alone, with our thoughts and

beliefs, or with people, when our behavior and thoughts may be influenced

by external forces

What should we do?

oMoral obligation: the question of “what should we do?” in an attempt to be a

good person.

oShould we not use cars because it burns gasoline and contributes to global

warming, in turn harming poor people?

oCan scientists like Dawkins answer the what should we do question?

Who should we emulate?

oIs there any type of role models we should try to imitate?

oHow do we know who we should aspire to be like? Is there a right or wrong

answer to this if we admire the selected person?

What do we know and how do we know it?

oWe all possess knowledge about certain things, but how did we come to

know about this?
