Determinism: conditions and laws of nature outcome. No, you can change the future by changing things in the present now. Determinism implies : history would repeat itself, only one choice you can make, given the past, change conditions change outcomes. Libertarianism: multiple possible futures, given the same past, all paths. I have nochoice over the fact that if p, then q . Conclusion: then i have no choice with respect to q. Conclusion says no choice / no free will. Mystery for compatibilist: ncp must be false, but it seems impossible to refute. Ncp: what follows from determinism is no choice / no free will so how can they be compatible. Possible response: determinism implies you have only one choice to make, but it still is a choice. One choice does not mean no choice, no free will. Libertarianism: rejection of determinism, so a type of indeterminism. Making a choice seems to involve some kind of stability/predictability of behavior.
