Alexander"s reply: the fact that some african americans have experienced great success in recent years does not make this idea untrue. No caste system in the united states has ever governed all black people. When looking at the oppression of a group, you cannot only look at a couple of cases where people have risen above the group, you still have to evaluate the majority of the group.
