Document Summary

Acquisition an increase in the probability that a conditioned stimulus (cs) will elicit a conditioned response (cr) Habituation a decline in response to stimuli that have become familiar through repeated exposure. Generalization get conditioned for an object that"s close enough to generalize with conditioned stimulus. Because of stimulus generalization, the cr can also be elicited by stimuli that are similar to the cs i. e. little albert conditioned to fear mouse cries when he sees any furry. Discrimination: do not get conditioned response because an object is distinct from the conditioned stimulus. To train the animal to discriminate among stimuli, one stimulus (cs+) is presented with the us, while another (cs ) is presented without the us i. e. the baby would not cry when something distinguishable from rat comes in. Extinction and reinstatement ( passive ) trials in which the cs is presented without the us lead to extinction. Classical conditioning pavlovian; includes stimulus associations to reflexive responses.
