Dependent personality disorder > people who are willing to sacri ce anything as long as they have relationships with other people. Schizoid personality disorder: people are uninvolved with other people and they do not care. Symptom is something that occurs and is reported. A sign is something observable from someone else. A syndrome is not de ned by only one symptom or sign. You have to use your judgment of what is clinically signi cant. It re ects a dysfunction in the psychological, biological, or developmental processes underlying mental functioning.
