The possibility of success from rescue was very low because the conditions were so extreme. The issue of reprisal was real, even for the international community. Anyone that assisted the rescue of jews would suffer. A lot of people tried to rescue but often in it wasn"t wholly successful. Cannot look at them as the same thing. Every polish person that takes a jew will be deemed as guilty. Shot poles for helping jews and even children under 12 + one old woman.
