Document Summary
Two types of assaults against jews: murder, assault to their humanity. Reasons we should not judge the jews for not resisting: they were lied to and were unaware that they would actually be killed. The nazis said they would work or that they were being relocated to different cities (not concentration camps: in history, masters never killed their slaves. If you think you aren"t guaranteed death, why would you risk it in resisting: the jews received no outside help from other nations/organizations, the jews had no access to arms, they did not know their fate. Some even came to nazi round ups because they thought there. One needs to know the above reasons to be sensitive about the topic of would be food: physical. Libraries, music, high schools in the ghettos: preserved some normalcy and humanity. Accounts of this in 61 ghettos, so not just warsaw.
