There are two theoretical models: freud and sex role socialization. Boys: learn to be men, detach from others, identify with fathers, repudiate the feminine, masculinity"s the of opposite and is superior to femininity, heterosexuality: desire for mother substitutes. Girls: learn to be woman, give up wanting to be like fathers (penis envy), identify with mother, future grati cation as a mother. Wednesday, september 13, 2017: femininity is passive in terms of gender and sexuality, heterosexuality: to be passive and to desire penetrative sex. But these two stories about boys and girls are cliffhangers: boys: Fail to renounce mother and identify with father. Masculinity that does not repudiate the feminine makes the boy feminine. A homosexual has a desire to be like mom: girls: Sometimes femininity is not passive in terms of gender and sexuality.
