The p24 blood draw can detect it 10 days after exposure. Viral lode: how much hiv is in your system. We have a huge spike in this in the rst 10-14 days after exposure. Cd4 count: the cd4 count is like a snapshot of how well your immune system is functioning. Cd4 cells (also known as cd4+ t cells) are white blood cells that ght infection. With hiv, your cd4 count stays pretty high for the rst 8-10 years.
