Line 12: calling the voice that inspired moses. Im going to do things in my poem that no one has ever done before . His heavenly muse is going to soar over the mountains that the grecoroman muses. He was to be his nation"s and his time"s virgil. He was to bestow upon english literature a single great epic. He doesnt set out to create an imitation of the old epics. God has just thrown satan and all his followers out of heaven into hell. Even in hell the fallen angels are still proud; their sin still defines them. The abscnece of god/heaven is the worst and most tormenting part. Page 11; god is control of thunder.
