Plane landed between w. 48th st (midtown) and weehawkin nj, one person injured (flight attendant who cut her leg) Exit doors thrown open by attendants, passangers gathered on wings, water entered the plane. Chesley b. sullenberger iii (pilot) left the plane last, 57 years old. Walked to rear of plane, saw everyone had evacuated, got off. Plane left laguardia headed over the bronx and reached an alttitude of 3200 feet, when pilot reported bird strike.
