The borders are more or less drawn already. The difference between luther and calvin is not that significant. Reformation: nation states decide they dont have to abide to what the church orders-- there is a political reality outside of the church. It is already decided if you are going to hell/heaven. Luther ends up being protected by the german princes. Jean calvin: led the second way of the protestant reformation. Growing conviction in what matters is the state. Most of the people had no conception of rights (universal, belongs to everyone, fair trail. Instead: what does all this do to the way society is being transformed. Church"s monopoly of faith allowed it to have a impact on power etc ) Calvin ruled his state with an iron fist. The quest became to figure out if you were one of the chosen ones. Calvin"s idea of predestination spread and calvinism became more popular then.
