He is extremely "young" compared to older leaders of china and his propaganda re ects that by emphasizing his personality and has a rst family. Made themselves appear as more accessible to the people and more cosmopolitan. Contrasts with predecessors, xi and his family have become stars in reality tv, microblogs, appearances on tv, etc. This is used as a way to appeal to the people of china. Popularity has to due with ideas that he is pursuing in his policies.
