Students wanted to adhere to islamic values, not modern america. From hubby"s perspective: american regime was problematic for them. Cannot tolerate the subjugation of anyone other than god. Students wanted to emphasize that this was students trying to follow islam, not political parties/factions. Students want america to return the criminal shah. Document given: america has exploited iran and undermined their attempts to leave. Sisters call radio station to spread news. Khomeini believes there is no power greater than god. World in which islam & participatory democracy can create a better world. West wants to portray rifts between supreme leader and prime minister, but they are more united than believed.
