Eventually 350 lawsuits were filed in the region as a result of the accident. The average family (before lawyer fees) received somewhere between 4-6 million dollars: a divide was created, with the parties that received settlement on one hand and people who did not on the other. Why do people not sue: lumping one ends up lumping whatever happened to just an accident. That"s the way the world is. or bad things just happen. : disassociation, in the event of a tragedy one is often traumatized. Many people are not ready to examine or confront the event in such an intimate way as a lawsuit demands: blaming self, is a natural cause. A strikingly few people look outwards for fault to such an extent of a lawsuit.
