Isaac senter delivered their baby: an alleged affair developed between senter and susan rutledge, after a year in europe, senter went to charleston to see susan. Rutledge was back early from washington d. c. and senator rutledge shot a fleeing senter: rutledge challenged senter to a dual, they fought a duel in georgia. Rutledge shot senter in a knee and senter died in savannah two days later: in 1804, capital offense was the punishment for murder. Sometimes there"d be a trial or arrest for duals, but the jury would always acquit with only one exception. Everyone else: cannot be insulted because there is no character to defend, will hang with all the judgement of the law in murder cases, jury nullification can sometimes reflect a double standard within society. Something deeply disturbing in the outside community is the judgement for the court.
