Document Summary

You don t need to be exposed to a pathogen. Mast cells release histamines that constrict blood vessels at wound and dilate. Injured tissues and macrophages release chemokines to recruit help vessels nearby. Monocytes arrive and they mature into macrophages. Two types known as humoral immunity and cell-mediated immunity. Protein which sticks out of the surface of the cell membrane. Antigen key unlocks receptor lock which causes the activation of immune cells. Uses mhc proteins to be able to see if the antigen is foreign or your own. Mhc recognizes the bacteria or virus, engulfs it and breaks it up into the various antigens and then they leave it out on the mhc. Class 1 mhc presents to a cd8 t cell class 2 mhc presents to cd4 t cell. T-cell creates pore-forming proteins which get transferred to the infected cell. Create apoptosis activating proteins which transports it to the infected cell which then causes the cell to rupture.
