Exposition: the monster, known as grendel, is attacking hrothgar"s hall, and is causing horror and sadness in the land of (x). Rising action: beowulf decides to take on this monster, and sleeps inside hrothgar"s hall. The night passes by, and the presence of grendel can soon be felt. Climax: grendel appears in the hall and starts eating beowulf"s men. Grendel one on one in an epic battle. Falling action: beowulf is finally able to twist off the hand of grendel and grendel runs away, bleeding to death. Denouement: beowulf is crowned a hero, grendel is believed to be dead, and there is a huge feast in celebration of the end of grendel. Exposition: grendel"s mom wants revenge for her son"s death, so she then attacks the hall of hrothgar in anger, again, causing sadness across the land. Rising action: beowulf again decides to dive into the underwater home of grendel"s mom, and fight her alone.
