Communist international- bring about revolution, russia abandons, lenin takes control. Lenin dies from stroke (1924) without naming successor. Joseph stalin- man of steel, kills competition to take power. Stalinism- strong leadership at top, force and violence. Purges- foreigners from government, stalin killed 2-3 million people. Molotov-ribbentrop pact- ussr and germans don"t kill each other, split poland.
