The final price of a product is a function of both the production costs as well as what market forces dictate. The goal should be to find the optimum size for a specific problem, not a generalization. Also relates to the location of different elements relative to each other a well as the general dimension of each element. The focus shouldn"t be on minimizing weight, but instead optimizing it. Takes into account materials used, loads expected, life expectancy, cost, and more.
