Purpose is to collect data and regulations in wine industry. Three tier-system with producers -> distributors -> retailer. Weather conditions that control the flavor, taste and alcohol wines. Tropical climate and semi-desertic climate doesnt have a lot of wine weather. Tropical main issue is b/c it double grows bc no time to rest in grapes. Semi-desertic issue is that it is dry so you need irrigation. Temperature, rain wind, hail and frost can be a problem. Biggest area of sauvignon blanc production is in marlboro new zealand. White wine is pressed as quick as possible to avoid oxidation turning into vinegar. Red grapes color is extracted from the skin through crushing grapes. Can grow in a range of soils and climates. Cooler climate has high acidity green fruit/citrus fruit taste or even vegetable. Moderate climate has citrus and stone fruit taste and sometimes tropical fruit. Hot climate has tropical fruit aromatic profile. Rombauer or chablis (type of wine to try)
