Direct cholinomimetic: a carbachol which mimics ach at all receptors (muscarinic and nicotinic) Tetrodotoxin: prevents the conduction of action potentials by blocking na+ channels. Cholinergic neurons: cerebral cortex, anterior horn of the spinal cord, pre-ganglionic neurons (sympathetic and parasympathetic, special sympathetic post-ganglionic neurons, such as the eccrine (sweat glands), blood vessels of the penis and clitoris, and blood vessels of the face. Parasympathetic neurons: cranio-sacral, cranial nerves 3, 7, 9, 10, sacral segments 2, 3, 4.
