Document Summary

Increase of pressure within follicle and enzymes weakening follicular wall (local) progesterone collagenase weakens follicular wall. Pgf2alpha- lysosomes release enzymes to weaken follicular wall. Pge2- increases blood flow which increases pressure against follicular wall. Once lh surge occurs, progesterone, pgf2alpha, pge2 causes ovulation. Increase of estrogen because of 2-cell gonadotropin model. Fsh influence causes increased estrogen levels (building to threshold) After estrogen peak, lh surge causes ovulation (ovulating follicle) Popped follicle releases egg, granulosa cells, and stays an open wound. Pgf2alpha (plasminogen activator) activates substrate to help remodel/digest tissue in follicle. Plasminogen helps dissolve coagulum & activates enzyme plasmin. Plasminogen & plasmin work together to remodel (heal) ch into cl. Increase in lh-r on granulosa cell in anticipation of lh surge. Remodeling ch into active cl (healing ovary to progress into luteal phase) Theca interna & granulosa cells become luteal cells & produce progesterone (because luteal phase) Induced ovulators- revolve around a tactile response (not cows)
