Behavioral genetics considers nervous system function and variation: Consists of 100 billion neurons and at least a trillion other supportive and nurturing cells called neuroglia: Genes control the production and distribution of these chemical signals. Every neuron is connected to 10,000 other neurons. Our brains are literally gridding things in a rectangular measure. A lot of behaviors are learned behaviors. If you don"t use a synapse, it will degrade and go away, result in forgetting things. Uses empirical risk, twin studies, and adoption studies. Association studies with snps and analysis of specific mutations that are present in individuals with the behavior. Genetics studies of behavioral disorders are challenging traditional psychiatric classification: Disorders may lie on a continuum with many genes having input. More serotonin in the reward circuit will reduce depression.
