Four empires dominated the era: egypt"s (cid:373)iddle a(cid:374)d new kingdoms, the babylonian empire, hittite empire in anatolia, assyrian empire of northern mesopotamia. Around 1200, groups of invaders appeared (cid:894)the o(cid:374)es (cid:449)ho are (cid:862)i(cid:374) (cid:272)harge(cid:863) are the o(cid:374)es (cid:449)ho o(cid:449)(cid:374) (cid:373)ost of the goods(cid:895) People have problems with the way he rules. Gods send enkaduk to take him down, but they end up becoming friends. The goddess ishar sets in motion a plan to take down enkaduk but he rejects her when she tries to make a move. So, she goes to heaven and asks her parents to destroy gilgamesh. Gilgamesh realizes he can now die, so he goes on quest for mortality. Today, we see the possibility of going to heaven, but these people do not yet believe in the concept of an afterlife.
