Normal condition: liver functions normally, glycogen stores are replenished during overconsumption (when fasting has occurred previously, adipose tissue can contribute to stores. Normal sized droplets of lipids inside of cells and normal sized adipose cells. Obesity: large lipid drops and large sized adipose cells, little white dots in liver and muscle will appear. These should not be there and they are made of lipid deposits. Can result in fatty liver diseases, etc. Overstimulation of the adipocytes causes the adipocytes to not be able to hold all of their lipid stores and leads to organ lipid deposits. Lipodystrophy: very few lipids are stored in adipose tissue and the lipids within them are shrunken. Lipids will be stores in other organs and cause lipid droplets to appear on the outside of them: can be caused by genetics or where insulin injections are given.
