PH 122 Lecture : Current and Voltage
Document Summary
Handle on one end, two wires come out of other. The voltage that is put out by the genecon is roughly proportional to the speed that you turn the crank. If you need a higher voltage, just crank faster. By cranking the genecon at a constant speed, you can apply a constant voltage to your circuit. The current that is put out by the genecon is roughly proportional to the force necessary to turn the crank. If you have to apply more force, then more current must be flowing. Though the voltage you apply will be fairly constant, the amount of current that can flow will depend entirely on the resistance attached to your circuit. You generally do not control the amount of current flowing through your circuit.
