ECE 2100 Lecture Notes - Lecture 4: Operational Amplifier, Virtual Ground, Voltage Divider
Document Summary
11: second order rc1c2 ampli er: step response . 13: circuit analysis with real op amp model . 17: example calculations of voltage gain . The operational ampli er (op amp) is a high voltage gain ampli er with a di erential input (2 input terminals) and a single ended output (one output terminal). The op amp was invented in the 1940s and was a key component of analog computers of that time. In 1963 fairchild semiconductor produced the rst op amp in a single integrated circuit (ic) with transistors, resistors and capacitors. Amps used in the lab (the a741) was rst created in 1968 and it remains in use today. These devices have two power supply connections which are usually one positive and one negative supply voltages (with respect to ground). The input has an inverting terminal and a non-inverting terminal.
