What is creativity: can be defined as ability to generate novel, and valuable, ideas. Ideas can now be generated that simply could not be generated before the change: can give rise to ideas that are new and fundamentally different from any before often highly counterintuitive. But: no current ai system has access to the rich and subtly structured stock of concepts that any normal adult human being has built up over a lifetime. Combinational creativity is the easiest of the three types for humans to achieve. Computer exploration: exploratory creativity, too, can be modelled by ai provided that the rules of the relevant thinking style can be speci ed clearly enough to be put into a computer program. Much greater success than in modelling combinational creativity. If program interacts with events in outside world, types of data to which it is sensitive are preordained no fundamentally new capacities can possibly arise.
