Ability of cultures to change the meaning of something is very important - Globalization examples taking it out of its cultural context and putting it in another. Ex) clothes being made in one country but being sold/worn in another. Homogenization - a lot of cultures are becoming more americanized because of america"s dominance in the economy/market. Ex) western entertainment - music, films, tv, etc. Ex) mcdonald"s can be found in many countries all over the world. Ability to produce in a variety of different places. David harvey - noted for notion of time-space compression. Arguing that the world has shrunk (has gotten smaller) - communication, technology, and transportation has made it the world smaller. We can gain, lose, and move info around the world almost immediately. A blurring of space and time - everything is immediately available to usand nothing is tangible anymore; everything online can be shared immediately to anyone in the world.
