Vision comes from light energy transduced into nerve impulses. Humans sensitive to small portion of electromagnetic radiation. Tissue layers of the eye (will not be given a diagram to label, so don"t have to know that) Sclera- tough outer layer of connective tissue; forms visible white part of the eye. Aqueous humor (not tears because it never leaves the eye nor is on the outside of. Maintaining the shape of the eyeball the eye) Iris colored part of the eye (what color your eyes are) Contains 2 sets of smooth muscle networks. Pigment in iris is responsible for eye color. Varied flecks and lines are unique for each individual. Basis for latest identification technology (everyone has different eye colors) Pupil round opening through which light enters the eye. Pupil size controlled by the iris more or less light as needed. Size of opening is adjusted by variable contraction of the iris muscles to admit.
