Sensory mechanisms have evolved to detect change in the nature and intensity of stimuli. Perceptual set is what we expect to see, which influences what we do see. Comparing the object to surrounding (perceiving the same sensation differently) Contextual effects on word processing: sensation is nonsense, but experience with words allows us to perceive words. Our eyes respond to some of these waves (certain type) Our brain turns these energy wave sensations into colors.
