Dissociative identity disorder formerly known as multiple personality disorder. 2 or more distinct personalities, one is more dominant typically one of the personalities is unable to remember what happens to the others. More common in women and girls who were sexually abused, especially repeated abuse. They try to cope with it by tuning out, literally trying to turn away mentally. They tend to have a smaller hippocampus than normal. The stress from being abused may cause that damage. Sometimes brain waves would change, eye glass prescriptions, or eye color. If it exists it is rare, and most of the time people are faking or it is over-diagnosed.
