Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (cte): atrophy of the brain, typically in response toa history of physical trauma to the head. Monozygotic twins have much higher concordance for suicidality than dizygotic twins. Cluster b personality traits and impulsive-aggressive behaviour represent intermediate phenotypes of suicide that partially mediate the relation between familiar predisposition and suicide attempts among relatives. Connection among serotonin, suicide, and impulsivity low levels of serotonins major metabolite, 5-hiaa, found in people in categoriesof depression, schizo, and personality disorders - who committed suicide. Post mortems show increased binding by serotonin receptors (responses to decreased serotonin) the link between 5-hiaa levels and suicide is compelling int he case of violent and impulsive suicide.
