Elections: voter turnout, lower in the us than any democracy. Midterm: called midterm because it does not coincide with the presidential election, takes place in the middle of it, this is when we elect our governor (this is different or every state) Local elections: depends on the jurisdiction of when they hold election, certain cities will hold it during midterm/presidential, a lot of council races take place in march. Special elections: occur when elections are not regularly scheduled, recall often occur for special elections. Representation: majority, 50% + 1 in order to be declared the winner, if you have more than one candidate this often leads to runoff, purality, proportional, california doesn"t have all of this, we have majority.
