Document Summary

Exchanging resources facilitates the pursuit of human satisfaction or happiness. Learning new skills and getting an education are examples of resource creation. Individuals, families, and communities are constantly moving in new directions, seeking new ways to trade and network: interconnected resources examples are integrity, time, people, space, money, materials, objects, food, intelligence and energy. For example, homeowners deciding to paint a bedroom themselves rather than to hire a painter. Another example is a couple about to be married who decides to have their reception at one of the parents" homes, rather than at a hotel or ballroom. External exchange is usually required for auto repairs (not always); wise businesses will try to show/convince you that they can do it better: the worth or of internal exchange tends to be undervalued in our society. One of the goals of the book is to extol the virtues of building one"s human capacity.
