Bit depth- gives the range of possible integer values on the y-axis of a sound wave graph. Sound is vibration, so if there"s nothing to vibrate ie air, there is no sound. Both the graphs position vs time of one t= d/v. Clicker question 1: a mandolin plays an a=440hz what is the wavelength: less than 1m, between 1 and 5 m, between 5 and 10 m, all of the above. Clicker question 2: what is the wavelength of a wave that propagates along the piano string tuned to 688 hz: 2m, 1m. Longitudinal waves are in the motion of the medium. Transverse waves are perpendicular to the direction of propogation. Superposition is when waves cross paths and simply add up. Beats occur when two waves are barely out of sync, creating bigger waves consisting of the two superposed waves.
