If you"re a protestant and you fuck up then you"re on your own, just you and god - therefore more suicide because of the lack of community. If you"re catholic and you fuck up then you have a whole community from the hierarchy of the catholic church. God pope bishops, cardinals priests etc. In 1215 - pope decided to have the 3rd crusade and sent out invitations but no one wanted to go. Jews had to wear something to identify that they were jewish. Torture the accused sinner until they admit their guilt and then kill them. If a member of the upper class, you could prove your innocence through battle. Tells his followers that they don"t need to go through all the steps in the hierarchy to talk to god. He says that you could just neel and directly talk to him.
