Document Summary

Response: magic/bird: the sport of basketball definitely affected the lives and experiences of the characters. In a sense basketball is the environment of constant competition and this is what drives the players to perform to their highest potential. Nixon are having an argument because nixon is getting upset with magic"s passing style. Nixon is trying to diminish magic"s character by telling him, this ain"t college, man. These players are in constant battle with opponents and with themselves to become better players. On page 16, we see coach riley elevating magic when he was explaining to him that, change comes hard, but they"ll adjust. You"re the reason we"re winning. this was so empowering just from an audience"s perspective to just imagine how magic must have felt when he told this. It was definitely a moment that is probably significant to magic because of how it made him feel and caused him to be grateful to have riley as his coach.
