Thus the respiratory system is the quick fix to ph correction. It corrects blood ph in just two breaths. The excretory system is the slow and steady way of doing this. This is done through diffusion and is thus passive transport. This is because the partial pressure of oxygen is higher in the atmosphere than in the body. Thus the oxygen readily moves into the lungs. This is because the partial pressure of carbon dioxide is higher in the body than in the atmosphere. Thus carbon dioxide moves out of the lungs readily.
