As blues moved north, it became more electric. 50s-60s- black men particularly in blues were ripped off by record labels. African american music was more explicit than songs written by white americans. White americans sang african american songs- cover song. Shake, rattle, & roll - joe turner (african american)- sings it more complementary. The rolling stones took him on their tour which helped resurrect his career. Bill harley and the comets (white americans)- sings it in more of an insulting way. The first lead instrument was saxophone not guitar!
