Maintains homeostasis by regulating blood pressure, heart/breathing rate, digestion, and body temp. Coordinates nervous & endocrine system by influencing pituitary gland. Regulates emotions part of the limbic system; sex drive, pain, fear, etc. Receives information from motor cortex & sensory pathways to produce well-timed voluntary movements. Comparison compares position of body part to where it ought to be.
