Document Summary

Realists say it is in our nature. Pragmatic terms - every country is out for its own interests and therefore, interests will always be coming into conflict due to this individuality. Classical liberals also say it is in our nature, but is controllable. If we do compete, it fits that if you try to displace people then it will place you at a disadvantage with trying to cooperate with others. We"re all competing with each other all the time, yet if you can establish the correct circumstance then a means of understanding will be concluded. Idealists, constructivists say it is a mistake, but solvable by international cooperation. Conflict is a mistake (if we talk about it, we can talk about it before violence ensues) - ex: creation of a league of nations (don"t let people go crazy) If we eliminated the things we are arguing about and talk about real needs, thins will be accomplished.
