Ex: american in college, whatever you are doing this semester/week is what"s important (less concerned about what"s happening in your home town or in your old school, etc. ) Especially in an egalitarian and hierarchal society. Advantage of trade: direct attention and accomplish great things. Disadvantage: if the other side doesn"t like what we"re trying to do, they will stall. Opportunity costs: what do you have to give up in order to enjoy what you would like to get right now (how do i want to spend my time?) What you"re doing right now is competing against other opportunities that could be happening.
