PHIL 101 Lecture Notes - Lecture 48: Class Conflict, Proletarian Revolution, Reductionism

19 views3 pages

Document Summary

This situation, according to marx, has to produce the revolution as an abrupt change of quality, due to the sharpening of the antagonism between the two classes. The proletariat, which becomes from "class itself" to a "class for itself", has a leading role in the class struggle to create the basis for the proletarian revolution which would be the last and decisive one. Once this revolution is made, two epochs will occur: the epoch of the dictatorship of the proletariat. The victorious class must install a regime that no longer allows private ownership of the means of production, that is, a socialist economy. This is only possible in the first instance by force, until the previous antagonisms have finally disappeared. This is the final stage of all history, thus turning primitive co-modernism through many steps into "developed communism" in which the "individual can freely realize himself in a classless society".
