How do i know that i"m not dreaming. How do i know that i"m not hallucinating. How do i know that my perception delivers veridical information about the world. How do i know that the world is real by my perception. When i am in a perceptual state (ex. I do not know, at least sure, whether the perception is real because perceptions are fallible. What seemingly is infallible is the fact that i feel something-my phenomenal experience (or quale) is immediate and not "representational" Can doubt knowledge but cannot doubt the fact that we are thinking. Undoubtable to doubt the fact that we are doubting. Representationalism is the doctrine that the mind represents the world by means of thoughts, perceptions, etc. We have no direct access to the world. When we see the world, we depend on the visual system, which essentially involves some casual processes that mediate what is visually perceived (like a tree) and the visual experience.
