PHYSIOL 1 Lecture 7: Physiology_001_wk_7
Document Summary
Does little to impact blood flow on tissue by tissue basis more global functions. Redistribute blood to other parts of the body. Increase in resistance = increase bp (decrease in bp) After blood volume in systemic veins = increase preload = increase of bp. Increase hr = increase of co, increase sv. Control degree of vasoconstriction/dilation by regulating sympathetic system. Controlling sympathetic output to the heart: increase hr, increase foc. Controls parasympathetic output to heart: decrease heart rate. Pressure sensitive (mechano) neurons that respond rapidly to stretch levels from changing bp. Found in most large arteries of thoracic arteries and neck. Decrease o2 or increase co2: stimulate sns. With an increase in sympathetic stimulation, increase in waste clearance, so an increase in co. Really low bp = emergency cns response. Decrease in bf + increase co2 in blood + increase co2 locally at vasomotor center = strong stimulation of sympathetic system (major vasoconstriction)
