4. Good balance between text & illustrations

7. Teach (some type of message, lesson – might be humor)
8. Enjoyed by reader and listener
Read Aloud Tips:
Pick a great book (will make you lap, keep their attention)
Pick one that will enrich your relationship
Spark their imagination
Extend vocabulary
Inspire creativity (need to give parents ideas of how to be creative)
